# 119 - NATURAL ARGENTINA III: Paradise of Birdwatchers - 10 nights

Itinerary day by day:

DAY 1 - BUENOS AIRES
Arrival to Ezeiza International Airport. Reception and transfer to hotel in Buenos Aires. 03 nights of accommodation with breakfast.

DAY 2 - BUENOS AIRES
In the morning, Tradicional City Tour visiting the best of Buenos Aires: La Boca, San Telmo, 9 de Julio Avenue and the Obelisk, Puerto Madero, Corrientes Avenue, Colón Theatre, Recoleta. In the afternoon, we will visit the Cathedral, the neigh-bourhood where Francisco born, and most interesting points related to the Pope.

DAY 3 - BUENOS AIRES
After breakfast, In the morning, start excursion to Lujan, to visit the famous Basilica de Lujan, to visit one of the most important Gotic Churches of Argentina.

DAY 4 - BUENOS AIRES - IGUAZU FALLS
After breakfast, transfer to Airport to take flight to Iguazu. Arrival, reception and transfer to hotel. 01 nights of accommodation with breakfast

DAY 5 - IGUAZU FALLS - YACUTINGA LODGE
After breakfast, transfer to Raices Argentinas Transportation from Puerto Iguazú- Raíces Argentinas - in modern vans travelling through Urugua-I Provincial Park and rural areas of Yerba mate plantations.In the 145-km distance covered along a paved road the landscape combines small towns and Forest. During this trip, the Guide will explain the environmental problems of the region and the importance of Natural Areas Conservation.Arrival at the Lodge, reception, room distribution. Dinner. Night walk, The Forest at night.

DAY 6 - YACUTINGA LODGE
Early in the morning Boating along the San Francisco stream, which flows into the Natural Reserve. This is the right moment for a photo-safari and general fauna observation. Sailing lasts almost 3 hours, silently going through the Gallery forest area. Back to the Lodge at mid-morning. Lunch. Free time to walk along the several self-guided interpretation trails or simply to enjoy the facilities of the Lodge (swimming pool, observation towers, hanging walkway, Visitors center, etc.) Interpretative walks in the afternoon, conducted by expert guides who provide good infor-mation on the several natural environments, their Flora and Fauna. Back to the Lodge. Dinner.

DAY 7- YACUTINGA - POSADAS
After breakfast, visit of San Ignacio Mini Ruins. Transfer to hotel in Posadas. Overnight with breakfast.

DAY 8- POSADAS - IBERA MARSHES
After breakfast, transfer to Iberà. Arrival to Aguape Lodge, check in. 03 nts of accommodation with meals. Canoeing, Kayaks, Mountain Bike for use. Dinner

DAY 9- IBERA MARSHES
Breakfast. Outing Motor Boats. Excellent wild fauna watching: Capibaras, Alligators, Marsh deers, Neotropical Otters, and 350 bird species. Local guide. Lunch overlloing the blue lagoon. Time for relax, swimming pool. Tea service. Short Trekking in the forest, walking through the interpretation path in the virgin forest. Identifica-tion of native flora. Excellent fauna watching (Howler monkeys, capybaras, gray brocket deer). Birdwatching. Interpretation center and the local ranger. Optional; Short horseback riding guided by local experts. Walking through the cluster of palms with outstanding bird-watching. 4X4 trans-portation. Dinner at Aguapé Lodge

DAY 10- IBERA MARSHES
Breakfast. Excursion on motorboat for wildlife watching through the Miriñay river. Although similar to the first day excursion, the Miriñay is a some-what wilder rougher area housing larger marsh deer as well as larger caiman. Also, caiman nesting with their caiman egg layers are seen during the incubating season. This is an excellent birdwatching area. Lunch at Aguapé Lodge. Relax -Swiming pool. Canoeing excursions with local Guide. All these are wonderful to go on identification excursions or pho-tographic safaris. Medium level canoeing: Through the lake´s West coast towards the Miriñay spring. Snack aboard. Returning at sunset High level canoeing: By the "Paso Claro" coast with a stop at the side of the gallery forest. Pick-nick by the shore. Returning at sunset. Bicycle ride. On mountain bikes to ride along the Colonia Carlos Pellegrini soil streets by the old thatched huts or riding to the Center of Interpretation crossing the Bayley bridge three kilometers away from the Aguape lodge. Dinner at Aguapè Lodge. Traditional "asado" (barbecue)

DAY 11 - IBERA MARSHES - MERCEDES
Breakfast. Guided trekking through the Aguara Marshes. Excellent birdwatching area. Photo safari. Transfer in 4X4 vehicules. (40 km from Aguape Lodge)- Check out. Transfer to Mercedes to take overnight Bus to Buenos Aires.

DAY 12 - BUENOS AIRES
Arrival to Retiro Bus Station in Buenos Aires City
